Domino and Esko in N600 tie-up

Domino has signed a deal with EskoArtwork that will see the latter supply the digital front end for the inkjet specialist's first press.

Both Domino's N600 label press, and EskoArtwork's Suite 10, a collection of workflow engines and software tools, were launched at the show yesterday.

"Workflow integration is as important an element of the total offering as the printhead," said Domino director of digital print- ing solutions Philip Easton. "Accurate colour management and optimised print quality need to be guaranteed, particularly in the brand-oriented packaging and labelling sector."

EskoArtwork software director Geert De Proost added: "The Domino N600 has the potential to be a very strong player in the industrial print sector and we are very happy that Domino customers will have the opportunity to maximise performance through our Suite 10 software release."

The N600 is a 50m-per-minute, 330mm-wide machine, with the option of an additional ink channel to run white for clear stocks and can be seen running on the firm's booth (17/D900). The Kyocera printheads in the N600 machine offer a 600dpi resolution and four grey levels, which Easton said was equivalent to 1,200dpi.

Suite 10 is a radical overhaul of EskoArtwork's product range. It includes four engines - the colour engine, automation engine, imag- ing engine and dynamic content engine - and a range of software tools, which offers a "seamless" upgrade path for existing EskoArtwork customers.
