The Sign & Digital UK organiser announced the intended September 2012 launch of Digital Print UK back in August 2011, but was forced to push it back a year the following May due to "budget constraints".
Digital Print UK was subsequently rescheduled for November 2013; however, Faversham House revealed yesterday that the exhibition would now no longer take place, as it has seemingly been hit by the same problems that have affected next year's Ipex 2014.
Rudi Blackett, event director, said: "Our intention for Digital Print UK was always to make the exhibition a successful buying and lead generation event similar to Sign & Digital UK, but unfortunately in the current climate a number of major suppliers in commercial digital print have decided to concentrate their focus and budgets on other routes to market at this time.
"This is borne out by some of the leading companies in the industry deciding not to exhibit at print events. This is particularly disappointing as we had a broad spectrum of exhibitors confirmed for the exhibition."
Unlike the previous cancellation, when Faversham House announced that the 2012 show was being put back to 2013, no such promises have been made, with Blackett simply stating that the organisers would "continue to monitor the market in the future to see if the opportunity arises to run an event for that market sector".
"In the meantime we will be focusing on our growing portfolio of events in the market sectors we currently serve," he added.
Sign & Digital UK remains unaffected and will run from 30 April to 2 May 2013 at the NEC,
Birmingham.
