Printed at Polestar Bicester, the new monthly title Ruby Loves is designed for 8- to 12-year-old girls and aims to inspire craft making and creativity delivered through a combination of traditional print and digital content.
The 32pp magazine comes in a recyclable bag containing a craft kit giving the reader six step-by-step projects, while a unique user code to the corresponding website, www.rubyloves.come, gives access to on-line videos, patterns, templates and virtual pinboards.
The title is printed on 100gsm Hello Fat Matt paper supplied by Robert Horne while the recyclable 100gsm envelope cartridge bag is provided by Rothera & Brereton, part of the Paper Co group.
DC Thomson head of publishing Neil O’Brien said: "This is a new model for our magazines with an interesting blend of the old and the new. The creativity behind the product is inspiring and we believe we've produced a great magazine for a new generation of readers."
"The magazine is a highly interactive product which has been specifically designed for both print and digital format, and is being produced by the same editorial and design teams responsible for our other children’s titles," he added.
