Although financial details of the deal were not disclosed, Communisis chief executive Andy Blundell said the contract gave the company "positive visibility on future revenues".
"This is a significant contract renewal for us and we look forward to continuing our work with Barclays, offering innovative solutions which add value," he said.
Under the agreement, Communisis will provide both print and management services including production on its HP T300 digital web press, which was installed earlier this year.
Blundell cited the company's ability to "respond to the changing demands" of Barclays for the contract extension, which will span 13 years by 2015.
"The strength and longevity of our working relationship with the bank demonstrates the continued attractiveness of our broad service offering and our ability to deliver competitively priced and integrated solutions," he added.
