Sigma Green is an enhanced version of its Sigma flatbed laser cutting and engraving system, which as been modified to reduce energy consumption.

This is thanks to new software, which enables it to power down in standby mode,  and so reduce electricity consumption by 25%.

Cielle likens the principal to the start/stop engine technology used by the latest generation of cars. The firm claims that for a machine operating for 10 hours per day the reductiom in electricity used is 2,800KWh in a year - equivalent to 1,500kg of CO2.

Although its primary market is for signage for cutting and engraving wood and acrylic boards, the firm also believes it is relevant for printers who want to expand the range of materials they handle on their UV flatbed printers. It can cut materials up to 50mm thick at speeds of 5m per minute.

The Sigma is available in 2x1.5m and 2x3m bed sizes with a choice of 130watt or 230watt lasers. Pricing is in the range of €70,000 to €130,000. Cielle is looking for a dealer for the UK market.
