CFN Packaging invests in a Windmoller and Holscher Primaflex CM press

CFN Packaging has opened up new areas of business after it spent 2m on a Windmller and Hlscher Primaflex CM press.

The move is part of an ongoing investment made by the Lincolnshire-based packaging company to update its factory complex, and it has also included the purchase of two polythene extruders and a new recycler.

Peter Wood, sales director at CFN Packaging, said the eight-colour press will enable the business to go into the printed form fill film market, creating polythene film that is used in form fill machines in the food industry.

He said: "The new press will increase our print capacity by 50%. We do a lot of process print work, and that's what the eight colour is about."

The press has been fully operational at the £8m-turnover, 65 staff business, since the beginning of March.

CFN Packaging has also recently achieved the British Retail Consortium certification, an independent quality assurance standard for businesses that are involved in food hygiene and food safety.
The company is a family business that manufactures polythene products for the packaging trade. It produces packaging products for the food, postal, medical, retail and fashion sectors.
