CarbonNeutral Company encourages businesses to 'cut out a kilo'

The CarbonNeutral Company is encouraging businesses to 'cut out a kilo' for World Environment Day, which takes place this weekend.

The event is celebrated each year on 5 June, however, the CarbonNeutral company is encouraging companies to engage with staff during the week and take action on Friday (4 June).

World Environment Day is a United Nations initiative that aims to promote worldwide environmental awareness and action.

The CarbonNeutral Company is providing free toolkits for businesses, which include a logo, posters and tips for cutting a kilo of CO2.

Members of staff can contribute by commuting to work by cycling instead of travelling by car – or if they are travelling by car, they can car pool with a colleague.

Ways to reduce a kilo in the office include recycling 180 sheets of paper instead of sending them to landfill and setting the printer to revert to low-power mode.

Companies that participate and save CO2 will receive a certificate to mark their involvement.
