Canon supplies more than 400,000 worth of kit to Leicester College

Canon has pledged its support to training the print workforce of the future by supplying more than 400,000 worth of digital equipment to Leicester College.

The manufacturer has provided the college's suite of digital imaging technology with an imagePress C7000, an imagePrograf ipf5100 and an imagePrograf ipf755.

The new kit is expected to help students learn about the colour digital printing process and the science behind inkjet technology.

Maggie Galliers, principal of Leicester College, said the equipment would enable the college "to build on its learning development programme to encourage young people to enter the print industry".

"This, along with our accreditation by the National Skills Academy for Materials Production and Supply, builds on our reputation for excellence," she added.
