Buxton Press signs for Europe's largest Fujifilm XMF installation

Buxton Press has signed for Europe's largest installation of Fujifilm's XMF cross-media workflow.

The Derbyshire-based magazine printer will install the entire suite of XMF, including the online job submission and proofing module XMF Remote, to handle the half a million PDF magazine pages it processes each year.

Speaking on the Fujifilm stand (9/CD360) after sealing the deal, Kirk Galloway, managing director of Buxton Press, said: "We pride ourselves on investing in the right technology at the right time and this is exactly the case with XMF.

"We print 55m magazines each year and we've learned that the combination of cutting-edge technology along with our first-class printing expertise not only ensures that we stay at the top of our sector "It will allow us to offer more proofing options than ever before, strengthening our quality assurance procedures while adding to our customer's overall printing experience and peac of mind," he said.

Buxton is already a Fujifilm customer, using its Pro-V low-chemistry plates and two Luxel V-8 platesetters, and Galloway is confident that the addition of XMF Remote will "strengthen and expand our client support services enabling us to get on with the job in hand - printing their publications".

Fujifilm's XMF suite of workflow products manages all print production requirements, from online job submission through to approval via XMF Remote. It also has a print management function via XMF Production Workflow and web-toprint job procurement through its partnership with EFI. but more importantly that we are able to meet and indeed exceed our clients' ongoing high expectations."

Galloway added that the company had already undertaken an extensive trial of the system and that he was won over by its easeof-use and its ability to handle complex PDFs and set up imposition templates.
