The title was printed by Butler Tanner & Dennis.
The BPIF-organised event had 16 categories and ran with the theme Vultus et Tactus (look and feel in Latin). Highlighting the theme was the awards brochure printed by Streamline Press, which included a tactile flocked cover and anaglyph 3D images of the Book of the year.
BPIF chief executive Michael Johnson called on the audience to celebrate the benefits, beauty and utility of printed books and their longevity in the face of competition from e-readers from the likes of Sony and Amazon with its Kindle.
The host for the evening was writer and comedian Andy Hamilton.
