Brazilian deal boosts sales for Goss

Web offset manufacturer Goss has sealed a number of valuable deals at Drupa, including the first installation of its Sunday 3000 press in Brazil to commercial printer Posigraf.

Posigraf bought the four-unit gapless-blanket press to increase productivity and efficiency on a machine that offers a 72-inch web width with 32-page capability.

Posigraf owner Giem Guimaraes said: "Stepping up to the wide, 2x8 format will expand the pagination options we can offer to our customers."

Goss executive director Vitor Dragone said: "Posigraf is equipping itself with this high-speed machine to get a competitive edge in South American printing."

Two M-600 web offset presses have also been ordered by Chinese commercial printer Hong Bo Technology and Druck und Medien web offset and sheetfed magazine printer of the year 2011 Neef und Stumme, which is based in north Germany.

Neef und Stumme bought the M-600 as a replacement for one of its four current machines purchased in 1999 as the company expanded into the high-quality special interest and corporate publishing market.

Neef und Stumme managing partner Andreas Bauer said: "We are strengthening our position in the market with the machine as its speed increases productivity and allows us to do smaller runs and more version changes."

Goss president Theo Buchmeyer said: "It is important for us to have a long-lasting relationship with our customers. Neef und Stumme’s strong market position means the customer can be demanding of the supplier, so we are happy that the company has sustained the relationship."

Mexican print company Grupo Ajusco also bought its second Goss M-800 press with 32-page capability.
