The company handled the sale of the Mini 76 THS, to paperback book specialist Print It, in Gargzdai directly from its Heanor plant in Derbyshire as there was not a suitable distributor in the region.
Autobond managing director John Gilmore said 2012 had been the company's "busiest for years" following a number of installations as far reaching as Palestine, Egypt and the US.
He said: "We’re seeing more and more companies choosing to bring lamination in-house.
"We’re increasingly blessed with machine orders from all over the world at the moment, and we hope this trend will continue."
He added that Print It’s managing director Tomas Kocius was an avid PrintWeek fan and had heard about the Mini 76 THS from reading the magazine.
Kocius said: "In 2011 we saw a steep increase in demand for lamination, a service that we had always outsourced due to the sporadic requests for jobs of that nature.
"Then it started to become more regular, and that’s when outsourcing started to eat into our margins."
Kocius ordered the machine in April to cut back on the outsourcing costs and to promote the long-term profitability of the company.
Autobond is showcasing its laminators and spot varnishers at a number of upcoming events in Germany, Milan and Amsterdam before the end of the year.
Increased interest from local customers at Drupa led to Autobond’s decision to appoint Binderhaus as its distributor for Germany earlier this year as the company grows its presence in 168 countries across the globe.
