An all-in-one digital multi-finishing system, the DC-746, will be pride of place at the show, held at Sunbeam Studios, in Ladbroke Hall, North Kensington from 3-4 November. Duplo said the slitter-cutter-creaser will help open up new markets in direct mail as it can produce products such as perforated tickets and coupons.
The DC-746 has a new waste management system, new end-trim air blade and a wider range of formulating modules, which Duplo said ensures there is no slowdown in productivity in any applications. It is complemented by Duplo’s new Job Creator Software, which allows the operator to create PDF templates, including barcode and image recognition.
A new configuration of the 600i finishing system, launched two months ago, and the DSF-2200 sheet-feeder, makes the 600i Duetto System the third launch.
Duetto is a twin feeding system allows printers to run both litho and digital work through one machine.
An entry-level photobook system enables printers to create a layflat effect for a reasonable outlay. The Powis PhotoPress system is, Duplo said, “a fast and easy way of turning single-side digital print into distinctive photobooks”.
It uses pressure instead of heat to laminate single-sided prints to Powis Signature sheets.
Duplo UK marketing manager Sarah Crumpler said Powis “would be suitable for anyone interested in testing the market or their pay-for-print markets or internal print service”.
Duplo is also launching the PFI Coat 300i system, which is a standalone, fully automated coater for applying an all-over UV varnish to both digital and offset prints.
The company has been working with HP to ensure the coater works in line with its HP Indigo presses. It has been beta tested by Prime Group in this configuration but can also work with other digital printers.
Finally the show will be the global launch of a new tabletop laminator by Fujipla. The Fujipla ALM 3220 Automatic Laminator is a scaled-down version of the company’s flagship model. Crumpler said it had been produced in response to customer demand.
She added: “Again we’ve got a new product in every range that we sell. It’s fantastic. If we know there are things in the pipeline we see what we can pull forward for the event but we don’t show anything that’s not available now.”
There have been around 200 registrations for the event so far, although Duplo expects final attendee numbers to be twice that.
Crumpler said: “It’s a good intimate event where you get the opportunity to see how the different technologies complements each other. Everyone offers something different. It’s an event designed by our customers; it’s what they want and it’s a good reason for them to take the time out of the office.”
The event also includes the inaugural London meeting of the Duplo Owners’ Club focusing on the best bond for perfect binding solutions.
There will be a meeting of the HP Young Entrepreneurs’ Network and a BPIF Apprentices’ Forum, as well as a PrintIT! School visit for winners of a competition – all designed to promote and showcase young talent into the print industry.
Finance experts from Close Brothers, Clear Asset Finance, Compass Business Finance and Five Arrows Business Finance will also be at the event to give advice on financing.
Crumpler added: “With our ongoing development of next-generation products and the first public showings of a number of systems, we know this event will provide great ideas and inspiration to help generate business growth and increased profitability for our growing numbers of customers.”
