The five-colour Ryobi 785E has the manufacturer's PCS-K Printing Control System built in, which centralises control of ink and water, printing parameter settings, fine adjustment of registration, impression pressure preset and maintenance information.
According to Ryobi, this reduces the press size by 40% compared with a typical B2 set-up.
Neil Handforth, sales and marketing director at Hertfordshire-based Apex Digital Graphics, said: "A five-colour machine is now the most popular configuration of both B3 and B2 machines.
"The majority of printers expect to run four-colour, plus either a special colour or more often a sealer, enabling them to be able to handle the work sooner, moving the printed stock into the finishing department for the next stage of the process," he added.
The Ryobi 780 series comes in two versions – the S-type press offers a maximum printing area of 765x545mm, while the XL-type press has a maximum printing area of 765x580mm.
The Ryobi 525GE B3-format offset press, which was released in November 2009, will also be on show at Ipex from 18-25 May.
