The west Molesey, Surrey-based business opted for the Agfa package in a bid to "keep on top of the game" in order to maintain high-quality output for clients that include Peugeot and Citroën.
Jon Morgan, production manager at the 15-staff company said the decision to opt for the Azura plate stemmed from the need to have a clearly defined image before the plate went on press.
He said: "The dot quality is fantastic. For example, we are working on a campaign involving packaging as well as other promotional material where colour matching is essential for a background tint made up of 2% cyan, 2% yellow, 3% magenta and 3% black.
"The results are first class and the customer is really pleased. We would really have struggled with the old system."
Morgan added that the company has also been able to undertake plate production on behalf of a local printer whose CtP system was unable to achieve the required screen values.
The 25-year-old printer has also recently installed an Epson 9900 wide-format printer, which general manager Gavin Jackson said would allow the company to produce Fogra-quality proofs when coupled with the Apogee system.
""Key for us is getting the workflow right and Agfa’s Apogee workflow is, in our opinion, superior to all the others. Our prepress manager would not swap it for the world," he added.
