Greetings from the show floor at Drupa, where team PrintWeek are a wee bit busy working on the DrupaDaily show newspaper (you can find us in hall 7 if you happen to be passing).
With last week’s bank holiday in the UK, combined with half-term in some areas, I wouldn’t be surprised if this second week of the show is the busiest when it comes to UK visitors.
Whatever your area of interest(s), there’s no shortage of inspiration here for those who do make the effort to come to Dusseldorf.
I’ve just returned from seeing the Highcon show (it’s great by the way). An interesting point made by the firm’s marketing manager Shelagh Hammer when we had a chat afterwards was that equipment like Highcon’s is giving designers creative freedom – so there’s an important shift there from printers having negative conversations along the lines of “no sorry you can’t have that and here’s why” to an entirely different type of exchange involving those three magic words “yes we can”.
And that, dear reader, can result in all kinds of new opportunities.
