Good to learn that it will be a packed house at Stationers' Hall on Monday evening, when WPP chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell will give the Stationers' 2009 Annual Lecture.
Sir Martin is among an elite league of business power players with the ability to make the sort of pronouncements that move markets. No wonder so many in the industry are eager to hear what he has to say in relation to our sector and the future media landscape.
It's noteworthy that when commenting on WPP's recent results he predicted that the slump would lead to a comeback for "old media" channels such as newspaper, radio and television, because falling advertising prices are making them more attractive. However, his focus elsewhere is online, with future acquisition plans targeted at growing this part of the group's business from 25% to 33% of sales.
One thing's for sure, he won't pull any punches so we can look forward to the unvarnished truth, no matter how brutal it may be. The title of his discourse refers back to his famous prediction about the post-dotcom downturn being bath-shaped: "Recession. Bath, Shower or Whirlpool; which is it to be?", and gives a hint of what we're in for. I feel confident that I shan't be the only person taking notes on the night. Note to selves: arrive early to secure a good seat.
