Thought for the day: it's important to have joy-replenishers in your life. It could be people, activities or objects, as long as they provide a bit of a lift, that's fine by me.
I'm looking forward to a day of joy-replenishing activity at the main judging day for this year's PrintWeek Awards. With so much gloomy, joy-sucking news around at the moment it will be a real tonic to be surrounded by evidence of excellence and success in our sector.
I'm expecting to see print of fantastic quality, of course. I'm also expecting to see entries that are clever and innovative, and that make print an even better value medium for customers to choose. Last but certainly not least, I'm also expecting to see evidence of successful businesses that provide an inspiring example of the sort of shape companies need to be in to succeed now and in the future.
Someone said to me recently that they were optimistic about the printing industry two-to-three years from now. I'm hoping to feel more immediately optimistic - and joyful - by the end of play today.
