As part of an occasional series on paens to one-piece mailers, today's blog is an homage to Matalan.
Per last week's birthday blog, I didn't receive a personalised card from the retailer this year, but that's probably my own fault. What has subsequently arrived in the post is this rather delightful flip-flop shaped DM piece, incorporating a £5 voucher inside.
It has great standout on the doormat, and certainly put a smile on my face. Perfect timing with the appropriately summery weather, too. The fold-over construction is held in place by a couple of glue dots, so no complex shaped gluing or perfed edges required either - clever!
Now all that is required is for me to dash off to the shops to prove the efficacy of the mailing, and for someone to tell me who printed the piece.
