Judging for this year’s PrintWeek Awards has been going on over the past week.
It’s something of a mammoth task, and thanks must go to our Awards team here at PrintWeek Towers, and our judges for the considerable efforts involved in pulling it all together.
Most of all, though, thanks go to YOU – to all the PrintWeek readers who entered.
As the official Old Lady of PrintWeek I’ve been involved with this process in one way or another for more years than I care to remember. It’s always an absolute tonic.
This year, though, that tonic has been super-strength.
In a world where each day seems to bring a headline that is a variant of “how much more screwed up could everything be?”, and where here on the small island we are burdened by the dark clouds of uncertainty that is the Brexit omnishambles, those Awards entries truly were more than just a ray of sunshine. They were like a whole sun.
Fabulous print, repro and finishing skills. Outstanding financial performance (despite the aforementioned omnishambles). Ingenuity in solving client issues, and coming up with clever new ways of producing things. Environmental initiatives that are absolutely world-class.
And, of course, a set of super-impressive trainees that give this particular old lady hope for the future.
Thank-you one and all.
