Dear reader, I am about to head off on hols to a location where the sun functions as expected in summer, and the chilled rosé is both bargainacious and plentiful. A colleague who has just returned from a similar sojourn reported that “practically every woman around the pool was reading Fifty Shades of Grey”. Thinking about the Fifty Shades frenzy I wonder if there’s a publisher out there trying to come up with some sort of equivalent for a male readership? On second thoughts, the easier money is in the chick-lit variant. As it happens I was at a book launch last night – Neil Bradford’s Sons of Thunder anthology of motorcycle writing. Highly recommended whether you’re male or female, a motorcycle nut or not. And as some people seem to have an almost pornographic interest in motorbikes, perhaps it can be considered suitably on-trend? Anyhow, I shall be carrying on with my habitual print spotting while I’m off. I might even read THAT book. Hasta luego.
