Available as downloadable QR codes that can then be incorporated into printed materials, Cami codes host up to 29 seconds of video.
Designed for a range of applications, including business cards, greetings, promotional materials or information hubs, the codes display video on an entirely browser-based system, making it simple and widely accessible, according to Gary Peeling, CEO of WTTB parent Precision Proco Group.
He told Printweek: “Cami is the simplest approach in this space that we have come across.
“There’s no need for an App for either the creator or viewer of the video, and it is all web based: the video content can be uploaded and updated easily, and viewing is seamless.
“It has great capability for low cost, and we believe it has huge value potential for WTTB customers.”
Cami codes launched on WTTB’s online store on 23 September, with each code costing £4, or at a reduced rate for five codes, which are downloaded as PDFs.
WTTB had been working on the partnership for three months prior to the launch.
“Being quietly curious is in WTTB’s DNA,” said Peeling.
“We travel, network and are always on the look-out. Cami immediately hit the mark.
“When we get that feeling, we invest the time to bring it to market and go from there. Time is the greatest investment, and we can only work on so many innovations at a time.”
WTTB is part of the £70m turnover Precision Proco Group, which employs 499 across its four UK sites.
