Wrapology, which has offices in London, and Yantian and Hong Kong in China, counts among its clients luxury brands like Clarins, L’Oréal and Fortnum & Mason, with printing done out-of-house.
The firm, which is set to turn over £10m in 2023, will join German packaging manufacturers Leupold, Strobel, and Noble-pac, as well as the Italian packaging supplier Europoligrafico in the Carton Group.
Wrapology and Carton Group have signed an agreement for the sale, which will see Wrapology become a direct subsidiary in “the near future,” according to Carton Group. Financial arrangements for the sale were not disclosed.
Andrea Wildies, CEO of Carton Group, said Wrapology’s strong design capabilities and care for the brands it serves made it a great fit for the group’s portfolio.
She said: “Wrapology brings an impressive wealth of experience in brand building, design, and the use of a wide range of materials.
“With this acquisition, we are opening an exciting new chapter in our mission to provide packaging solutions that not only surpass the functional requirements and expectations of our customers but also spark a strong emotional and promotional response from end consumers.
“We are very excited about collaborating with the talented team at Wrapology and further expanding our expertise and innovative capabilities.”
The acquisition will see Wrapology’s 25 staff transfer under Carton Group’s care, taking the group to around 350 employees overall.
Tom Bosanquet, who took the helm of Wrapology in 2016 alongside his sister Annika Bosanquet, will stay on to lead the firm under Carton Group’s ownership.
He said: “Our market environment is characterised by expanding networks. Scale growth, geographical diversification and portfolio expansion are therefore crucial.
“With the Carton Group and Waterland, we can scale and further expand our business model.
“Carton Group’s broad customer base and expertise amplify our capabilities as we expand our foundation.”
Annika added: “This acquisition is the ideal next step in our success story.
“It allows us to bring our strategic brand management, our high level of design and material expertise as well as decades of experience in complex logistics to the group.
“I am pleased that Wrapology has found its home in the Carton Group, who are recognised as a premium manufacturer of packaging solutions and experienced guardian of a growing international business portfolio.”
