The manufacturer, whose parent group is Plockmatic International, will be demonstrating the SC6500 high-speed digital cutting and creasing device, which it said offers a “no wires” dual tool working environment, as well as the FB1180-T cutting table for larger-format work.
The SC6500 is the newest addition to the company’s range of post-press devices, and the latest extension to its digital die-cutting suite.
Based on the existing SC5000 unit, the machine is an automated sheet-fed device that has a capacity of 1,000 sheets in its auto-sheet feeder. With the ability to handle substrates of up to 350 microns, the unit is able to handle finishing actions including labels and bespoke shapes with no additional tooling costs.
“With its unique and reliable vacuum belt feeder, the SC6500 can be left to cut unattended, while the camera registration system automatically retrieves cut files by reading the QR codes on each sheet,” Morgana stated.
The “no wires” working environment, meanwhile, allows users to operate the cutter without the need to connect to a computer or to learn a new software program, meaning the unit can be positioned “virtually anywhere” on the user’s shop floor.
Ray Hillhouse, Plockmatic VP of sales and marketing, described the SC6500 as “one of those products that is both affordable and so flexible that we haven’t yet worked out a full list of what it can do for a print business!”
“It will cut virtually any shape of sticker or label, which means holding an extensive stock of adhesive label sizes is now a thing of the past. The potential for this device is really as broad as any designer could wish for,” he added.
Meanwhile, the freestanding cutting table FB1180-T offers a larger production device for printers working in the large-format sector. The kit can handle media of up to 860x1,180mm and provides a cutting area of 720x1,020mm in size. It features a cutting depth of up to 3,000 microns and a cutting speed of 1,200mm per second.
The new machines will be available immediately.
Morgana will exhibit on stand A01 at The Print Show, which will be held at the NEC in Birmingham from 19 to 21 September.
Additional products being shown on its stand will include its AeroDieCut and Rotary Die-Cutter. Its bookletmaking equipment will also be represented, alongside the established DigiFold and AutoCreaser products.
