The rebrand, which has included the development of a new website, means Print Evolved is continuing to offer web-to-print services but expanding its traditional print and lithography services. The rebrand officially took place at a launch in the middle of April.
Print Evolved managing director Spencer Slee said: “There was some confusion before, we did a bit of everything to be honest. But what we have done is looked deeply into the business, used consultants, and used the leadership team that I have here to really get at the nuggets of strength that we have and bring and package them in a way that really has a lot more meaning to our potential audience.”
Slee, who joined Ivor Solution as managing director in January 2014, replacing previous managing director Ivor Jacobs, is confident that the rebrand will see a huge upturn in output and turnover. Jacobs is now head of projects with Print Evolved. Slee said the company now has the capacity to take double its current level of approximately 1,000 orders a day, and that orders have come flooding in since the rebrand.
The Islington, London-based company is currently involved in a project working with the Co-op Funeralcare, producing a number of funeral service products, ranging from orders of service all the way through to condolence books. It also has an upcoming project working with Uber.
Slee is confident that turnover will improve alongside output over the next five years or so. Turnover rose by £0.8m between 2014 and 2015 and is currently at £5.1m.
He said: “We have spent 18 months doing a manufacturing review, finishing in October last year. We are currently transacting about 1000 orders a day, but have the ability to up that to 2,000 a day and we’ve invested heavily in that.”
“A lot of time has gone into creating an environment that is very lean. We’re very well placed now, hence the timing of our rebrand."
Print Evolved has a number of machines on its premises for in-house printing, including five Heidelberg GTOs, along with its own integrated Cognitu MIS, but it also allows its customers to choose their own print vendor and can then provide a web-only service and outsource the work. Slee said this accounts for approximately 10 to 15% of orders.
In April, Ivor Solutions launched its own print academy. The purpose of the academy is to help people involved in the industry who lack technical expertise. It occupies 100sqm of Print Evolved’s 650sqm premises and is run by former director Jacobs.
