The wide-format consumables supplier did not disclose the cost of the new substrate, Envirotech PVC Free Frontlit Banner 150gsm FR B1, but marketing manager Kieran Dallow said the company believes it is “the most cost-effective PVC-free banner solution currently available in the market”.
Commercially available with immediate effect, Dallow described the product as “a very viable alternative solution for environmentally conscious companies wishing to make a real stand against the over-use of PVC in our industry”.
The new material has been proven in testing to be weldable, although Innotech said it is still recommended to test this with customer-specific machinery.
“Being weldable is a huge benefit for our customers because most PVC-free banners currently on the market are not weldable and require additional stitching or banner tape, which can be more costly and time consuming,” added Dallow.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor campaign graphics, the new product is fire rated to B1 certification and is suitable for printing with eco-solvent, solvent, UV-curable, and latex inks. It is available in 1.6m and 3.2m widths and has durability that Innotech said is equivalent to 440gsm banner PVC materials.
