The app has more than 1.5 billion monthly active users and poses a major opportunity for creators.
In 2023, TikTok Shop saw over five million new US customers make purchases across the three days from Black Friday to Cyber Monday alone.
Gelato’s integration is currently available for TikTok Shop US and UK. Creators can design, add and manage products from Gelato’s interfaces and fulfil orders directly from TikTok.
With the integration, Gelato said creators could begin selling custom products to their followers with a few clicks, while the company’s network of local, on-demand production partners enabled the shift from centralised mass production to local on-demand, cutting down waste and carbon emissions while supporting local economies.
The move would also mean faster deliveries and fewer shipping delays for customers, the company added.
“At Gelato, we’re excited to help drive the future of e-commerce through this partnership with TikTok,” said Henrik Müller-Hansen, founder and CEO of Gelato.
“Today’s consumers – particularly Millennials and Gen Z – care deeply about sustainability, speed of delivery, personalisation and mobility. With this integration, creators can combine community, content, and commerce, all while delivering high-quality, locally produced products in a more conscious way.
“This is the next era of e-commerce, where social engagement meets smarter, faster, and greener production.”
At Drupa, Gelato and Landa Digital Printing unveiled a new collaboration between both parties, said to leverage Landa’s Nanographic print technology and customer network, and the GelatoConnect global software platform for the delivery of on-demand, short-to-medium run, digitally printed jobs.
