Macfarlane Group has appointed a new managing director for Macfarlane Packaging Distribution, Europe as it strengthens its presence in the European protective packaging market.

Macfarlane Group has acquired protective packaging manufacturer Polyformes for up to a maximum cash consideration of £11.5m, including an earn-out of up to £4.8m over two years.

Macfarlane Group has acquired Allpack Packaging Supplies, an East Anglian business that supplies protective packaging products to customers across a wide range of sectors.

Macfarlane Group experienced a 3% drop in revenue in 2023, but its pre-tax profit climbed by 2%, as its recent acquisitions delivered strong performances.

Macfarlane Group is expecting its adjusted pre-tax profit for 2023 to be ahead of last year and in line with its full-year expectations.
