Called TypEd and held during November, each of the three workshops aims to give a deeper understanding of typographic processes, while encouraging creativity.
Participants can tap into St Bride Foundation’s rich 130-year legacy of type education, from its Victorian Printing School origins to today’s role as a beacon for the typographically passionate.
The TypEd series will cover the gamut of typography, with topics including typeface design, public lettering, calligraphy, type history, type theory, sign writing, graffiti, technology and production, and illustrative type.
Each workshop will include an introduction to the topic and may be supported by presentations, interactive demonstrations, practical skill-building, and constructive feedback critiques.
Workshops will be complemented by St Bride Foundation’s library collections, including the world’s largest collection of over 10,000 type specimens.
A limited number of spots are available for the workshops, which all run from 2-7pm. For more information, visit: sbf.org.uk/whats-on/category/typedprogramme/.
