Epson has extended its range of substrates with the launch of Backlit Film, an enhanced matt paper for use with its aqueous-based UltraChrome inks.
The film displays sharp images in colours, including matt black, and delivers high colour gamut and density. In addition, the substrate is said to evenly distribute the back light and ensure displays are clear and bright.
Rolls are available in dimensions of 60x305cm, 112x305m and 152x305m. The film weighs 220gsm and is 0.170mm thick.
It has been designed to provide fast drying times, a neutral white point, good light-scattering properties and clean image rendering. The sheets are also said to produce bleed-free images and can be laminated.
“Backlit Film offers photographic quality that has not been seen before with this type of media,” said Epson senior business manager, pro graphics, Martin Johns.
