The 120,000 copies of the 2008 editions will be automatically collated using a Col-Tec collation machine. The punch and binding processes will also be automated for the first time, reducing staff numbers over the 10-week period from around 20 to six people. Managing folder production using the new machines will mean devising a completely different workflow, which is exciting but also a bit scary. But our staff are ready for the challenge and the end product will look so much more professional. It will be well worth all the planning and upheaval of the past few months.
