It is the second duplex press to come to market based on the Belgian manufacturer’s Sirius dry toner technology. While pricing was not disclosed, it is said to be a “cost-effective” machine that offers “superior image quality, perfect registration front to back and exceptional colour quality control”.
Xeikon said the press would suit printers working in the production of high-quality books and direct mail, POS materials, security print and general commercial print applications.
The single-pass five-colour press can print up to 1,200x3,600dpi at speeds of 20m/min or 1,700 B2 sheets per hour, and with a maximum printing width up to 508mm. Driven by Xeikon’s X-800 workflow for full automation, the machine also offers scalability, with upgrades available in both speed and colour stations.
Xeikon market segment director Dimitri Van Gaever said: “In today’s printing world, we all know it’s about delivering value which encompasses quality, performance, sustainability and competitive pricing.
“With the launch of the Xeikon SX20000, Xeikon is offering printers in the graphic arts and commercial markets an investment opportunity – a press with unequalled capabilities at an attractive investment level.”
The machine is commercially available globally “as of Q1 2021” and Xeikon is holding physical and online demonstrations at its Global Innovation Centre in Antwerp.
Last week Xeikon unveiled two new entry-level digital label presses, the Xeikon CX30 and CX50.
