Celebr8 Occasions has a double blade coating on the top side and a light matt coating on the reverse to give stability to the sheet during printing and finishing.
Since its introduction four years ago Celebr8 Occasions has targeted the graphical board market and just over two years ago extended the range with a 260gsm version.
The range has now been widened again with the introduction of a 280gsm, 440 micron product.
Sheet sizes range from 310x330mm up to 1,200x1,850mm and prices are “competitive” to other similar products, the company said.
“The UK greetings card market is the largest in Europe and we send more cards per head of population than any other country in the world,” said group board manager Dan Brown.
“We saw a gap in both the market and our portfolio; people needed a slightly heavier board and this latest product should fill that gap.
“With cards being produced typically in either 260gsm or 280gsm, the new addition to the range makes it ideally suited to this market.
“Add to this the ability to print multi-colour images on the inside of the card gives us a competitive edge and a market leading product range.”
The product is made in Canada from FSC certified pulps and range from 175 to 280gsm, suitable for applications such as book jackets and postcards as well as greetings cards.
The company said Celebr8 Occasions is also FDA compliant throughout the range and also suitable for high-quality packaging.
Last month Vision Paper & Board, which is part of the Middleton Paper Group, extended its Celebr8 Solo Occasions FSC board and Verdanna Offset ranges.
Solo Occasions, in weights of 165-260gsm, is also suitable for greetings cards as well as flyers, business cards, book covers, folders and a range of digital applications.
