At the show, held at Messe Lucerne in Switzerland from 24-27 February, Scodix will demonstrate its ability to embellish directly on a wide range of Winter & Company’s premium materials, including leather and silk, and Winter & Company’s wide range of branded substrates, including Skivertex, Napura, Corvon, and Wibalin.
Scodix said its Ultra 2500 (B2) Series and Ultra 6500 (B1) Series presses offer direct embellishment on an expanded selection of premium, uncoated substrates.
Its Multi-layer Enhancement (MLE) process applies multiple Scodix layers in a single pass, producing rich, vibrant effects while maintaining a smooth texture.
The first layer acts as a selective micro-coating primer on uncoated substrates, preparing the surface for subsequent embellishments like Scodix Foil or Scodix Sense.
Franz Repp, EMEA president at Scodix, said: “This partnership with Winter & Company unlocks a new era of creative possibilities for premium book producers.
“Combining Scodix’s cutting-edge digital embellishment technology with Winter & Company’s exquisite range of uncoated substrates empowers brands to create truly exceptional products.
“The ability to print and embellish directly onto materials like leather and silk opens doors to tactile and visual experiences that just weren’t possible until now, allowing producers to elevate their offerings and captivate consumers with unique and sustainable solutions.”
A Winter & Company spokesperson added: “At Winter & Company, we highly value collaboration with innovative partners like Scodix. We are excited to see companies exploring new, forward-thinking solutions that bring added value to our customers.”
Winter & Company began life in 1892 as a supplier to the leather goods trade. It is headquartered in Basel.
