The wide-format specialist will offer five ColorJet printers; the Verve LED and Hybrid models, the Vulcan RTR, and the SoftJet Plus and Grand printers.
The Verve LED is an industrial UV flatbed printer that runs at speeds of up to 38sqm/hr. It enables high-quality direct printing onto almost any kind of rigid surface, including wood, glass, leather, and ceramic tiles.
QPS said pricing for the Verve LED starts from "under £40,000" for a four-colour plus white configuration, which includes Onyx RIP, initial ink, and UK delivery and placement, but excludes shipping to a UK port.
Sister machine the Verve Hybrid is a 3.2m-wide UV flatbed roll-to-roll printer that QPS said delivers fast and versatile UV performance at speeds of up to 63sqm/hr.
Engineered for high-endurance work, the machine can print on substrates including aluminium composite sign blanks and sheets, foamboard, fluted polypropylene, glass, ceramic tiles, and wood, as well as a wide range of vinyl and flexible media.
The Vulcan RTR is a 3.2m-wide roll-to-roll UV flatbed inkjet printer that can print at up to 63sqm/hr and can handle materials including backlit fabric, ceiling film, vinyl, advertising banner, and PET.
Additionally, the SoftJet Plus is a 2.5m-wide entry-level soft signage printer that has a top speed of 46sqm/hr and is suitable for applications such as flag printing.
And the SoftJet Grand is a 3.2m-wide soft signage printer suitable for applications including banners, displays, wall decorations, signage, parasols, flags, backdrops, and outdoor advertisements.
QPS managing director Chris Bailey said: “We were put in touch with ColorJet by the team at Nazdar, whose products are already successfully used on ColorJet platforms.
“As a distributor of both Nazdar and DuPont Artistri inks, we are able to fine tune the ColorJet printers’ ink selection to specifically meet any customer's requirements.”
Bailey told Printweek the printers are all available to order now, with a lead time of typically six to eight weeks, subject to shipping constraints.
“The ColorJet machines are designed and built to be true production machines, with the ability to be in production all day, every day,” he added.
“For positioning, it is our view that these sit comfortably above all the entry-level printers.
“The ColorJet chassis’ are intended for the market where customers want the productivity of printers like the larger Canon Arizonas, the Roland IU-1000F, Swiss-Qs etc – which are all excellent printers in their own right, but can’t justify the capital outlay.”
ColorJet India international business head Binoj Antony added: “The partnership with QPS reiterates our strong focus on widening our presence across key markets by offering customers the ColorJet range of UV and soft signage products and supporting them with prompt and efficient service.
“We are confident that this association will be a major milestone for our expansion plans in the UK.”
