The Delta-pro range has a starting price of £75,000 and comprises three devices: the Delta 502pro; 703pro; and 705pro, and updates the existing Delta range.
It is aimed at the brochure, flyer and mailings market predominantly and, according to the manufacturer, offers shorter setup times, more user-friendly features and around 20% less energy consumption than its previous iteration.
Each model in the range can handle substrates up to A3 size with a minimum and maximum infeed height of 400mm and 1,050mm respectively and minimum and maximum stacking heights of 10mm and 150mm. The minimum reduces to 2mm if a small package option is adopted.
Palamides content manager Tim Henning said the Delta-pro series, which is available immediately, is suitable for use with a range of devices including collators, stitchers, folders, digital printers and mailing systems.
The three models offer different working widths and number of ‘ups’ they can handle with the 502 supporting one- or two-up, the 703 up to three-up and the 705 up to five-up and a maximum speed of 1,400, 2,100 and 3,500 packages/hr respectively.
Quick release fasteners on the jogging paddles mean quicker adjustments for operators, while easier opening of the unit has made cleaning easier and automatic shaft adjustment supports faster setup of new formats.
"We have developed and used a completely new software, for the Delta-pro range This has a better user guidance and enables connection to other machines without the need for a coupling box, meaning operators don't need to handle these boxes and the related investment costs are completely eliminated for most of them," explained Henning.
Optional equipment includes a loop stitch device, camera, extended buffer table, a separating module, a selective output table, small package option and stack leveling.
Henning added: "We have responded to market demand for a larger format range and shorter runs, so the Delta-pro processes more formats and offers a reduced minimum stack height. With all these changes to reduce makeready times, we have achieved our goal of now having the best Delta ever."
