On Memjet’s base in San Diego, a Fiery DFE was added to a seven-colour digital press driven by Memjet printheads and its “superior” colour and image control was the justification needed to secure the collaboration at the start of July, according to EFI.
The two US-based manufacturers will offer a joint service to Memjet’s OEM customers which combines the capabilities of the DuraLink printheads with a variety of EFI’s Fiery applications, including the FS350 Pro production software platform, the XB hardware configuration, the Command WorkStation interface and the Colour Profiler Suite software.
“We believe all Memjet partners of their DuraLink platform will see the clear value and benefits of the Fiery technology,” said EFI Fiery division vice-president of marketing and field sales John Henze.
“Fiery has been the leading DFE in the colour production commercial document market for over 20 years. From best-in-class performance driving colour and imaging technology to job management through the industry-leading EFI Fiery Command WorkStation application to variable data support, Fiery can provide the same benefits as we have for current customers in the many markets we serve.
“The Fiery XB designed for high-speed inkjet printer is ideal for DuraLink customers that need high resolutions, high-speed and wide printing.”
He concluded: “As a key Fiery partner, we will continue to work with Memjet and their OEM partners to further enhance the Fiery technology over time. As we make advancements and innovation to our Fiery technology and platform, we will provide those enhancements to Memjet and their partners as well.”
Memjet’s DuraLink pigment-based printhead system, with 1,600dpi native resolution, 222.8mm width, 70,400 nozzles and five-times nozzle redundancy, can be added to OEMs for print speeds up to 203m/min and stitched print widths up to 2.5m.
Further to its printhead module, a number of additions including maintenance, ink supply and waste ink management modules can be introduced. The technology is designed for print engines appropriate for commercial, packaging and industrial print markets.
