The Titanium range was designed to cover the existing and projected market requirement for a high-end, compact and high-productivity thermal/conventional plate processor.
Over the past 20 years Heights (UK), an OEM supplier to DuPont, Fujifilm, Kodak and Toray, has made more than 10,000 Mercury/Aztec and Bora offset plate processors worldwide.
The Halifax, West Yorkshire manufacturer said the new range combines the best features of its existing Mercury/Aztec and Bora processors as it continues to compete against products from the US and EU countries.
Technical sales director Stephen Morrissey said: “The Titanium replaces the Bora and eventually we may phase out the good-old Mercury/Aztec.
“We soft launched it this month and it is now available in the Far East. We expect a launch at Drupa in June.”
Pricing was not available, and accreditation and other details were being finalised so it is not yet known who will supply the equipment in the UK.
Morrissey said: “There is still a significant market for a high-end product like this from big magazine and commercial printers using good, blue-chip quality plates like Fujifilm.
“The technology offers unlimited throughput from a high-quality state-of-the-art system such as those available from Fujifilm but also conventional UV CTP systems.”
Heights (UK) flagged up the combination of qualities of the Aztec and Bora ranges to offer an “on-line, robust and reliable processor for high-volume plate production” as a key Titanium feature.
Back in 2011 the Halifax-based pre-press equipment manufacturer used Graph Expo in Chicago to launch a new mid-range thermal plate processor.
