The Atlas 1100 DS, released in January, is a double stack die-cutting and taping machine for wet-glue labels in small to medium formats, capable of buffering, stack cutting, punching, separating and branding automatically.
Installed on or off-line, it offers an upgrade on Blumer’s single-stack Atlas-1110 LS machine.
The machine handles strips of 350-1,115mm in width, up to 45mm-215mm in length, in single-stripe configuration, or a maximum of 108mm in width for double-stripe configuration.
Blumer has followed up the Atlas’ release with the brand-new AG-4220 counterpressure punching machine.
Specially developed for large label formats, the AG-4220 can run through the buffering, cutting, separating and banding processes fully automatically. Blumer has claimed the machine a world first for its ability to process large formats up to 239x320mm.
Stuart Bamford, national sales manager of Friedheim’s finishing division, told Printweek: “We are delighted to have exclusive representation of another world first from Blumer – but the triumph is the real world productivity gains available to our customers from these developments that label makers haven’t seen before.
“It goes without saying the first adopters will have an immediate advantage.”
Friedheim has exclusive distribution rights for Blumer in the UK; the Swiss manufacturer will show its AG-4420 at its stand (E30-5) at Drupa later this month.
