It has signed up to sell Linemods, Pratham Tech and Glue Machinery Corporation equipment. US firm Linemods manufactures a range of conveyors and modules, including plow-folders, product attachers, labellers and inkjet overprinting heads. Indian firm Pratham Tech’s miniature folders, mailing machines and code readers and US firm Glue Machinery Corporation products including hot-melt and cold glue systems.
Finishing Solutions founder and managing director Ian Boulton said that the addition of these agencies was a massive opportunity for the firm to offer clients a complete range of products from a single machine, through multiple components integrated to make a line to a totally bespoke finishing machines.
The Runcorn, Cheshire-based firm is targeting specialist print finishers, printers and packaging converters with the products.
Applications for the products range from greetings cards through to folded leaflets, outserts and a variety of tip-ons including sachets and cards for sampling, gifting and security.
The expansion of the firm’s product range began on the back of a project carried out in conjunction with Tech-ni-fold to add creasers to the plow-folders on one of DST Output’s web offset machines at its Nottingham factory.
According to Boulton, the addition of creasers to the plow-folders became necessary as heavier weight stocks were being printed web-offset and cracking was identified as a problem on high coverage. It was working with Tech-ni-fold on the project that introduced Boulton to the Linemods.
