The long-established company is increasing the selection of polypropylene print media in its range of Synplas synthetic paper with thicker grades of sheeted material.
Three new products, thickest of which is 1,200 microns, are targeted at printers of banners, signage and labels, stationery, packaging and point-of-sale materials.
For banners, pop-ups and signage the "zero-light-transmission" Super Opaque White is available in 300 and 440 micron thickness.
For the stationery, folder, packaging, tag and label markets White Matt/Matt and Natural Frosty Clear are available in 500, 800, and 1,200 micron thickness.
“These three products give excellent ink adhesion as well as high-impact resistance and are 100% recyclable,” said head of marketing Richard Kirchner.
“We already have an eco-solvent coating that we apply to polyester. We will import the polypropylene sheets and put on the eco-solvent coating in our factory.
“The product, which will run on eco-solvent large-format printers, is not really available in the UK, so we are offering something additional.
“The target audience will be printers who want thicker substrates such as 500 or 800 micron for banners, signage and labels.”
All Synplas products are suitable for printing with offset litho, UV litho, UV digital, and screen printing.
The material is due to available from DEP in the fourth quarter of this year in sizes including 650x1,100mm. Costs are still being finalised.
