The F1, of which there are now around 50 units installed, has added automation, including a built-in robot for job changeovers.
Comexi chief executive Jeroen van der Meer said the new F1 offered “an increase in production efficiency of at least 25%” with the robot managing changes automatically.
The company also revealed that its electron beam curing offset press, the CI8, which was shown as a prototype at Drupa 2012, has been commercially launched, with four machines installed in Europe and Asia and more set to go in this year. “It offers considerable savings due to faster and cheaper platemaking as compared to flexo or gravure and also enables faster time to market,” said van der Meer.
The company also introduced Comexi Cloud press optimisation tool at Drupa.
