Replacing the Rho 512R, Durst said it was designed to help printers increase their productivity by cutting out time-consuming and labour-intensive tasks.

The multi-roll engine can cut both horizontally and vertically while printing, and has an automatic in-line mesh-printing system.

Christian Harder, Durst’s VP sales, said: “[Automation] is not just the path forward for Durst, it is the path forward for our customers.”

He explained that with an increasing need to turn around big jobs quickly, the ability to print unattended and harness data to cut out logjams would be vital.

He added: “This is only possible with a certain automation.”

Durst, which also premiered machines from its recently acquired Vanguard division, also announced a new Double 4 option for existing P5 350 and 210 models which supports double CMYK configuration.
