The German company said its new ColourShift Aslan SE 70 range of special effect film features two transparent effects, while the ColourShift Aslan SE 71 opaque films offer four shimmering dichroic effects.
“The two transparent versions, Solar and Nebula ColourShift Aslan SE 70, are perfect for full-surface application on glass and for lettering. It’s impressive how the effects change from yellow to magenta (Solar) or from azure blue to deep pink (Nebula). Different lighting conditions also enhance the dichroic effect, making this film a real eye-catcher,” the company stated.
It said the opaque options in the ColourShift Aslan SE 71 series are mainly used for CAD films for lettering or plotted designs. They can be used on glass, but also on other smooth and flat surfaces due to their opacity. The series features gradients from deep pink to azure blue (Aurora), magenta to yellow (Alpha), copper to green (Andromeda), and from dark blue to green (Plasma).
Also new is Holographic Aslan SE 72, a silver double-sided holographic film that has no repeat pattern, meaning there is no waste.
“With its rainbow shimmer, it turns your designs and print jobs into unique, eye-catching applications. Its outdoor durability of up to three years means that it can be used for short-term campaigns as well as for long-lasting projects outdoors and indoors,” the company said.
This PVC-free film can be printed with latex and UV-curing inks, as well as screen printing inks. Its double-sided PE-coated liner is made for “perfect printability” and easy cutting with a plotter.
Aslan is also showing the new SignTack Removable Aslan DFP 13G film in hall 1 on stand 1-G33a, which is said to adhere perfectly to printed and unprinted PVC substrates such as banners, digital print vinyl, and CAD vinyl.
“More importantly, the tack level of this highly specialised adhesive, specifically formulated by Aslan’s R&D team, will not increase over time. This enables the film to be removed cleanly within three months, without damaging the print or leaving any adhesive residue,” the company stated.
It added this product can therefore be used on PVC films and banners for short-term campaigns such as sports events and music festivals, where dates and other information change annually.
Finally, the company is also showing the new LoopLAM Aslan SRL 19, a laminate that Aslan said guarantees a lower environmental footprint than all standard products. The laminate is made of 70% recycled polyester.
“You still need to have a certain amount of ‘new’ PET to ensure the technical characteristics – this represents 30% of the film. However, manufacturing such a film reduces the CO2 footprint by up to 30% compared to a non-recycled base,” the company said.
“This, combined with the Aslan solvent-free adhesive, results in a solvent and VOC-free product. Being polyester, it will not shrink at all, and when laminated on PVC-free rigid substrates or on the printable film LoopPET Aslan DRL 19 it can be laser-cut perfectly.”
Fespa is taking place at the RAI exhibition centre in Amsterdam until tomorrow (15 October). This year’s show marks Aslan’s first Fespa outing since it was acquired by German textile transfer film specialist Poli-Tape in late 2019.
