Finishing supplier Renz, which signed a distribution deal with Mohr at Drupa, delivered the machine to the printer's Canary Wharf facility two weeks ago.
Altaimage is looking to sell its Ideal DigiCut and move all guillotining work onto the Mohr 66. Prior to the investment, Altaimage hand cut SRA2 sheets to smaller sizes for use on its Ricoh Pro C651EX digital printers.
Altaimage managing director Rob King decided to invest in the £18,000 machine to increase the speed of delivery of the £1.6m turnover company’s work. He added that the hydraulic cutting and 198 programme capacity brought massive time savings and the electric hand wheel offers the precise, clean cut that the company was looking for.
It was brought in to produce pre-production book and magazine dummies for approval from clients.
King said: "It is a good quality machine and it fitted our budget. My operators have found the machine programming very simple and easy to use.
"The installation was very professionally handled and we get good customer service from Renz."
He added that the company was upping its digital capacity with the imminent arrival of a Ricoh 901.
