We’re looking for printers in Russia (preferably in or near Moscow, but not vital) with the ability to print good-quality annual reports, brochures and corporate finance publications. The quality we’re looking for would be in the vein of Empress, Royle, Colourhouse, etc. We haven’t found any who’ve been able to help and our UK print contacts do not have a Russian equivalent. We’d be very grateful for any help in terms of identifying a company/companies that we could work with.

Thanks to the expertise of Maksym Meregko at PrintWeek Russia I’m able to proffer the following suggestions: Alfa Design (www.alfa-design.ru); Megapolis Print (www.megapolisprint.ru); Triada (www.triadaltd.ru); Kuranty Print (www.kuranty-print.ru); ABT Group (www.abtip.ru). Hope this helps, and if anyone has any experience with other suppliers in that area that they’d be happy to recommend, please do get in touch.
One of my regular customers wants to do a US version of their Christmas catalogue. It will be quite a high-end job with gloss laminating, foil blocked cover, perfect bound, etc. It is a sheetfed size and quantity, so a fully specced B1 10-colour with in-house binding and hopefully mailing is the best bet. I guess somewhere on the East Coast would be best. Do you know anyone who might fit the bill?

First Russia and now America, this week’s column is developing a distinctly international theme. Try DS Graphics in Lowell, Massachusetts (+1 978 569 1225 www.dsgraphics.com). They have a 10-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster XL105 with all the bells and whistles such as InPress Control, along with the full service print and mailing setup you seek. Hopefully they will fit the bill, but again if anyone has other recommendations please let me know.
UV update
Bharat Mistry at Rapidocolor (01923 238507 www.rapidocolor.co.uk) in Watford has been in touch following the request for a B3 UV litho printer in the London area from a couple of weeks back (Help Line, 17 September). Rapidocolor has a B3 Heidelberg UV press, and Watford is the closest I’ve found to London for this requirement thus far. Many thanks for getting in touch.
