The Hampshire-based company, which helped snare a murder suspect using its beermat campaign, is also considering buying playing card-related domain names.
A six-colour KBA Planeta is used to produce the mats. The press prints 60 of the mats at a time on one sheet of 500gsm bleached cardboard pulp from Sweden. The substrate is designed specifically for beermats.
Martin O’ Brien, managing director of Zyan, told PrintWeek: We’re hoping to drive more traffic to the site and make more beermat sales. We may even pick-up some sales from abroad.
Beermat printing requires customised kit in order to develop the product. Once your press has been made to produce these items, there’s little chance it can do much else.
Zyan Design & Print turnover around £500,000 per year and produce around 10m beer mats per year.
Zyan snaps up beermat domain names to facilitate expansion
Zyan Design & Print has bought up the domain names beermat.com and beermats.com for $10,000 (6,996) in an attempt to expand its beermat printing services.
