Xerox greens up Drupa stand

It will be all eyes on the environment for Xerox as it plans its most environmentally friendly Drupa stand ever.

The 3,500sqm stand will be constructed from environmentally friendly materials and reusable components and will be lit with energy-saving lights.

The company will also promote green technology, from ink and paper to toner, with its new non-contact flash fusing toner technology that fires a xenon light more than 2,000 times each second at the toner, causing it to fuse.

The process maintains the natural moisture in the paper, resulting in greater reliability and less wastage.

Xerox Production Systems Group president Quincy Allen said: "We operate in an industry that puts marks on pages and, therefore, our business inherently impacts the environment.

"However, there are ways to minimise this impact through technological advancements and smarter work processes. At Drupa and through ongoing outreach with graphic arts customers, we're helping the industry work differently so that the impact on the environment is less and the benefit to their business is more."
