Previously general manager of the inkjet developer’s printhead business, he moved into his new role in March 2022.
Tweedale said: “I am proud and excited to have been appointed as Xaar’s COO, especially at such an important point in the evolution of inkjet technology.
“The extraordinary speed of innovation I have seen in the first 25 years at Xaar looks set to be matched and even surpassed in the next 25.”
Tweedale joined Xaar in 1997 as a technician in R&D, helping to develop its first-generation inkjet printhead products.
He told Printweek: “My goal is to deliver the company strategy, the principal focus of which is to sell more printheads.
“To do this we need to provide more of an integrated solution to our customers, whereby they can access more of the printing ecosystem.
“This includes supporting elements such as ink supply systems and the electronics required for printing, as well as the print technology - the printheads.”
As general manager of the company’s printhead business Tweedale played a central role in building Xaar’s printhead strategy, including the launch of the company’s collaborative ImagineX platform.
Tweedale previously held a number of senior management positions in the company, overseeing the growth of its manufacturing and operational capabilities, the growth of its global supply chain, and the introduction of new products.
John Mills, CEO of Xaar, said: “I am delighted with Graham’s appointment as COO, and wish him continued success in this new role as we work to deliver sustainable growth and provide the inkjet opportunities our customers demand.”
