The 22-staff Slough-based printer is looking to hit the £3.2m turnover mark by 2010 after consolidating the assets and goodwill of the Hayes-based company into its business.
X1 has taken on Jackson Print's £400,000 order book, four members of its staff and a DPX4 platemaker.
It also bought Jackson's Sakurai 58cm press, which has since been sold along with X1's two-colour Ryobi, following the new GX press buy.
The press spend is part of an ongoing £1m investment programme with X1 also planning to increase its digital print portfolio in the coming months.
Tim Lance, sales director of X1, said with turnover for the last financial year at £1.6m, the company had taken the decision to significantly grow its business.
"Our ambition in the next 18 months is to grow our business to a turnover of between £2.9m and £3.2m through a combination of organic growth from our existing customers and the development of new business relationships," he said.
The new Ryobi press, which was supplied by Apex Digital Graphics, has bolstered X1's litho capacity by nearly 50%. It complements a five-unit Ryobi 525GX and increases the company's "one-stop shop" offering.
The company's service offering spans graphic design and printing that includes literature, direct mail and fulfilment from the Berkshire site.
"There are three ways to go as a business. You can do down, you can stagnate or you can go upwards – and we want to go up," said Lance.
